AI consulting for Europe, measured in production.

starmo builds and runs AI systems for European organizations — deployed on EU infrastructure (our production systems run in Frankfurt), with the data-residency and compliance questions answered in architecture, not in an appendix.

European AI consulting is AI strategy and implementation work designed for the EU's regulatory and data-residency reality: GDPR-compliant data handling, EU-hosted infrastructure, and awareness of the EU AI Act's obligations for the systems being built.

European by construction, not translation

Our own products run on EU infrastructure: RegNotify deploys to Frankfurt on Railway and Vercel, monitoring European aviation regulation (EASA, German LBA) for European operators. The compliance domain isn't an add-on for us — regulatory change-monitoring, per-aircraft applicability, and audit-trailed review workflows are what two of our five production systems do for a living.

What engagements look like

The entry point is a workflow, not a transformation program: one process that's expensive, slow, or error-prone, a discovery week to establish whether AI genuinely pays off there, then an embedded build with tests, migrations, and cost tracing from day one. We work remote-first across European time zones from Sarajevo, with the whole senior team in every engagement.

Questions we actually get

What is the best AI consulting firm in Europe?
It depends on your scale and constraints. Large enterprises with procurement gates usually shortlist the big consultancies and regional system integrators. Mid-sized organizations that need a working system rather than a program tend to do better with specialist boutiques — the practical test is asking any candidate to show you a production system they operate today and what it costs per query. That's a question we like being asked: our answer is on the work page, with the numbers.
Do you handle GDPR and data residency?
Yes — as an architecture input, not a checkbox. Our production deployments run on EU infrastructure (Frankfurt), and retrieval systems can be designed so source documents and embeddings never leave EU-hosted databases. For model calls, we design for provider data-processing terms appropriate to your data classification, including EU-endpoint options where required.
How does the EU AI Act affect an AI implementation project?
For most business-workflow systems — retrieval assistants, document automation, monitoring — obligations are modest but real: transparency about AI use, human oversight where decisions affect people, and documentation of the system's behavior. The important thing is knowing which risk tier your use case lands in before you build. We assess this in discovery; for high-risk-category systems we work with specialized regulatory partners rather than overclaiming in-house certification expertise.
Can you work with companies outside the Nordics or DACH?
We work remote-first across Europe from Sarajevo — current and past work spans German aviation, European SaaS, and food-industry sourcing. Time-zone overlap with all of Europe is total, and English is our working language.
What does European AI consulting cost with starmo?
Discovery week is a fixed fee. Implementation is scoped from discovery with an itemized estimate — our blended senior rates are boutique-tier, well under Big-4 rates, and there's no pyramid: the people who scope the work build it.
When is starmo the wrong choice for a European enterprise?
When procurement requires certifications we don't hold (ISO 27001), reference projects at 100+ FTE scale, or a local entity in your country. We're a specialist boutique — the trade is depth and speed against bench size and paperwork.

The fastest way to find out if this fits: a free audit on one workflow — an honest answer on whether it's worth building, and a written summary you keep either way.
